sam

sam and i got to go on a little hike a few week ago with some new friends. it was a lot of fun.

here he is with his, "yoda stick". i love this boy.

check out this awesome moss we found.

he is a man of many accessories. notice the biking gloves. hehe. so glad you're here sam.

music fills the air

i'm so happy. he's at it again. how i love my talented and handsome husband.

the other night

yes, that is underwear on the boys' heads. the other night we were doing web cam with my family and they thought it would be funny to run into their room and put underwear on their heads. my family busted up. we were all laughing so hard.

i just thought i would share.

a few things we've been up to

date night last night. i wasn't a big fan of the movie, coraline, but it was sure fun to snuggle with my husband and eat treats.

here are my boys. it's been cold here in indiana. we are hoping for a little warm weather before winter really sets in. it is actually a rare sight to see sam with a coat or jacket on. his new thing is to be "brave" and not wear a coat. poor kid is nearly in tears walking in the cold air, but still refuses to put on his coat. oh well. i keep giving him the choice to wear it or carry it and i figure he can decide for himself.

we got to go to elliot's school last night with daddy so that he could get a little tour of elliot's new school. i forgot to get a picture of elliot in his classroom, but i did get this shot of them. i love how there are 3 sizes of drinking fountains here. cute.

i was feeling a little homesick for new york and utah, so to lift my spirits we made chocolate chip cookies. we had a great time.

the highlight of the week was roller skating. elliot's school had reserved the place and a lot of kids and their parents showed up. it was really fun! the kids did great. sammy was definitely done by the end, after 1 & 1/2 hours of skating. i was so happy he made it so long. we are planning to go again soon. elliot even asked us today when we were planning on going roller skating again. i wish i would have gotten a picture of jeffrey. he is so fun to watch. he's got the moves when it comes to disco skating. next time i'll have to get some shots of him busting a move.

i have to mention this about elliot. when we were skating there was this girl from his class that kept yelling elliot's name. he finally went over and said hi and she took him by the hand and they skated together. then another girl from his class came and held his other hand. it was so cute to see him with a girl on each side. he kept trying not to smile. after that he wouldn't hold my hand while skating. i think he wanted to look older, tough, cool, etc. it was cute. i can't believe how old he is getting. he still skated next to me though so that made me happy. being a parent is always full of new experiences.

oh and another note. it's weird how the longer i parent, the more i find myself doing things i always said i wouldn't ever do.
today we got indiana liscenses and re-registered our cars. we were there for nearly 2 hours. well some of you know how that goes with 2 kids. sammy was totally loosing it. so jeffrey pulled out his ipod and turned on cars. sam was in a trance. i remember seeing kids with an ipod or a hand held video game device and thinking, i'm going to teach my kids to be able to sit quietly without electronics. well, that is still a goal of mine, but boy did that technology come in handy today. i can also tell you that the people around us were grateful for technology too. peace and quiet is a rare thing with sam around. anyway, just wanted to share.
back to unpacking and organizing!

a little video

here is a little video of our house that my family has been requesting since we got here.

sorry, i'm not a videographer. but at least it gives you a peak.
we still have a lot of organizing and decorating to come so i'll update this video once that all happens. :) i didn't give you a preview of our bedroom because it is still a disaster. i keep telling myself that it takes time to move in. it's funny how the minute i move i want everything to be in it's place. it's hard to do much of anything with 2 darling boys to play with and take care of. like now, i gotta go because the boys are ready to play. love you all. mi

indiana

we're here safe and sound. we've been here a week and i feel good. it's weird to have moved again, but i guess it was a little easier since it wasn't the first break away from home and family. we are already missing our friends in ny though. i don't think it's quite sunk in yet that i'm not going to be seeing them. it was hard to say goodbye.

the kids are doing pretty good. elliot started school on wednesday and he's already loving it. he gets to ride the big bus home from school. he was so excited when he got off the bus. the first thing he said was, "we don't have to wear seat belts!" it made me laugh. we've already done homework together and i'm really excited about his teacher. she really involves the parents and sends a lot home. it's nice to have some constructive things to do with elliot. he's already learning to read and write. it's really exciting.

sam is having a harder time adjusting. we're trying to set some boundaries and help him not be so out of control. it's hard to be 3 1/2, have people not understand half of what you say, and try to be as old as your 5 year old brother. life is pretty frustrating for him right now, but we're going to get him into speech therapy through the school district hopefully within the next 2 weeks, we're setting boundaries and keeping them(at least that's our goal), and i'm also going to try to find a preschool for him. he's so darling and he's our little man of many faces. he'll figure it all out.

jeffrey is loving his job! i've met some of the people he works with and they are all so nice. i'm so happy for him. he's going to be learning a lot too. he gets home a little later than he did in ny. we were so spoiled to have him home by 4:30 monday through thursday and by 4 on fridays. he gets home between 5:30 and 6 now, so it's still early enough for him to have dinner with us and spend some time with the kids before bedtime.

i haven't taken pictures here yet, weird. i usually take a lot. i've just been doing what i can though. i was thinking, i should have taken pictures of them unloading the truck, unpacking the boxes, me finally finding my wedding ring (i lost my wedding ring for 7 hours while they were moving us in - it was a nightmare), elliot going to his first day of school at his new school, elliot getting off the big bus, the boys playing outside in our yard, the playground we found down the street, picking pumpkins at a nearby farm, the rows and rows of cornfields here, the many water towers, the numerous churches everywhere, the huge crickets, my boys in their new bedroom with matching beds, my car parked in a garage, the dishwasher, etc. it looks like i have a lot of pictures to take. i'll try to catch up this week and then post them.

i'll leave you with a funny video i took in ny a while ago that i've been meaning to post. my question is, do you have this much excitement in your house?
