my life is turning upside down again. sam climbed out of his crib!!! ahh! there is always something changing.
no, but really it isn't that bad. i guess it just kind of caught me off guard. there is something wonderful about being able to put your child in one place and knowing they can't move, and it brings you such peace. so now i will have to adjust, again, which is continuous with kids. he had the most proud look on his face when i opened the door. he knows he is getting bigger like his brother and i think that makes him feel really good about himself. i guess i am happy for him. i'm just not looking forward to the bedtime battles of teaching him to stay in bed on his own.

sunday morning we needed to distract our boys so that we could get ready. inside my head the idea came. make them space hats out of aluminum foil. well, it worked. in minutes they had both put their robes on to complete the outfit and they had a blast, and jeffrey and i were able to get ready. thanks for whoever did the aluminum hats in the past so that it would surface in my mind on a hectic morning.

here is the crew. karie, beef, bekah (my darling niece), jeffrey, jozie, lillie, and elliot. i am of course taking the picture. my parents got about 15 inches of snow on jan. 21st and we were in town, so we met up with our friends and took to the hill behind my parents house.

happy 59th b-day dr.homer(dad)! (with the updated video)

happy birthday to my dad. he turns 59 today. this is his last year in the mormon tabernacle choir. that will make 20 years come november i think.

wow daddy, you've been in since i was 6. i can't believe that. all my life or at least what i can remember. have a great last year!

december and all it's fun

with the help of my parents (thank you mom and dad!) i got to surprise jeffrey with a wii sytem for christmas this year. he is almost a pro bowler now on wii sports. also, notice that nice necklace i am wearing? yep, jeffrey made it for me. we had a lot of fun this year. jeffrey's parents got elliot a kid proof digital camera. i hope that will help him follow in his dad's footsteps. i would love to see jeffrey and elliot go on lots of camera trips together like jeffrey and his dad craig did.

the three buzz lightyears. sam, ben, and elliot. you should have seen these three on christmas day. CRAZY! they do have fun though. they got these matching outfits from grandma and grandpa homer. funny how they already have favorite movies and characters. they all seem too young, and yet they do know what they like.


here is our shephard sam. isn't he the cutest thing you have seen? he got to dress up for the nativity we did at the allen's home. they had so much fun dressing up and playing with the cousins. we love cousins! we had a great christmas thanks to our parents.


i absolutely adore this picture of elliot. here he is a wiseman bringing gifts to baby jesus. this was at my grandparents home in slc. they have a christmas party every year on the sunday before christmas. it is a pretty big deal. we have a big dinner, then it is talent show time, then nativity time, and ends with presents. it lasts usually about 4 hours. jeffrey and i performed this year. we played a guitar duet. we did a song by death cab for cutie. i'd say it went pretty well too. our goal this year is to learn a number of duets so that we can play together anytime.

lastly here is our little christmas corner in our home. i am so glad we have reason's throughout the year to put up pretty lights, colors, and decorations. it makes me happy. it also makes me rearrange my closets and get rid of more things i don't need. it's the kind of work that is rewarding, so you don't realy mind doing it.

we didn't do our christmas card this year so hopefully you can just review our blog and that should about cover it. at least the second half of the year. we love you all and wish you a happy new year.
