elliot's first baseball game!!

elliot is 4 1/2, going on 5. we are now entering a new stage of life as parents, and it's gonna be fun. we signed elliot up for baseball (tee ball) this spring and yesterday was his first game!!

he was soooo excited! too bad it was freezing cold! we had fun anyway though. just wish we would have brought the winter coats along instead of sweatshirts.
the team practiced for about 30 minutes. it was so cute to see the kids running around and the parents running after them, trying to direct them in the right direction.
here elliot is watching 2nd base. the kids would hit the ball off the tee and then run to the 1 then the 2 then the 3. simple enough right? well, it was pretty funny and really cute. only a few remembered which way they were supposed to go. that is the reason i guess the field was scattered with nearly as many parents as kids.
next elliot's team was up to bat. he was the last one up to bat and he brought them all home.

here's his happy face on the way home. all in all it was a great first day. i hope each game is just as much fun for him and all the other boys on the team.
oh, and i can't leave sammy out. he made sure i knew that he wanted a picture of him too. this was his pose. hehe. funny boy.

oh and to dad, if you read this. it was so wonderful to see you singing in the mormon tabernacle choir today in conference. you too mom. it was weird and kind of sad though, knowing that this was your last conference to sing in. you've been in the choir pretty much from the beginning of my memories. 20 years is a long time. i really am sad, the more i think about it. i'm excited for you to be able to do new things, but i will have to have time to mourn the ending of this amazing part of your singing life. thank you for always being so dedicated and loving what you do. i love and admire you in so many ways.
